Does it count as "news" if it's not necessarily "new"? Well sure! Why not?
Hey everybody! Lots of goings-ons happened this past month. I managed to complete every non-band DVD in the backlog, as well as the 2017 and 2018 band season DVDs, and the first Blu-rays ever of the band, musicals, and more! You can now watch your favorite high school music department on your own big screen in high definition! Head over to the now-not-entirely-correctly-named DVDs page to order yours today! Here's a list of recently-completed DVDs and Blu-rays:
- 2018 Marching Season DVD/Blu-ray
- 2017 Marching Season DVD/Blu-ray
- One More Time Show 2017 Audio CD
- The Addams Family (2019 musical) DVD/Blu-ray
- Bye Bye Birdie (2018 musical) DVD/Blu-ray
- Variety Shows 2016-2019 DVD/Blu-ray
- Most recent band concerts
I added listings for every past DVD that I can now make in Blu-ray, so be sure to order an upgrade if you'd like to own anything in high definition! I also added listings for all band and choir concerts that I've recorded. Basically the DVDs page has every single Blu-ray or DVD I could possibly make for you, so order away!
Additionally, I've decided to no longer record any band or choir concerts. The demand for a recording of those just isn't there, but if you'd like any specific concert professionally recorded (for a nominal fee), don't hesitate to contact me!
I slightly changed the ordering process of the DVDs page. By default, the "Add to Cart" buttons (and "View Cart" button at the top) will direct you to the PayPal site to manage the items you'd like to purchase. You would then complete checkout through PayPal using your PayPal account, or if you don't have one, you can just use any credit or debit card that PayPal accepts. I no longer (usually) deliver in person, and thus don't accept cash-on-delivery, so a shipping fee will be added. This is calculated based on the weight of your order and nearly exactly matches the amount I have to pay USPS to ship the DVD/Blu-rays to you. If you need to pay with a cash or check, use the "Order by Check or Cash" link to fill out a classic order form, or if you don't want to pay for shipping, contact me and we'll work something out! I also try to set up a table at most events to sell Blu-rays and DVDs in person.
All prices have been updated as well, following a standard model. Let me know if you need to buy several DVDs/Blu-rays at once, I'm happy to give discounts on bulk orders!
I added Digital Copies of all the new stuff to the Videos page. For simplicity, each video is available as a full-quality digital download from this site, or you can stream it using the embedded YouTube player by clicking the "YouTube" link in the theater.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
For the summer, I'll be focusing on finishing the rest of the backlog, which includes:
- 2017 Mardi Gras Parade/Trip
- 2016 Marching Season
- 2015 Marching Season
- 2014 Marching Season
- 2013 Marching Season
And that's it! Once I recover from the massive over-getting of footage from those years, I'll be all caught up!
A secondary project is to update the site. The current design is now over a decade old, and while I think it's awesome, it's only designed for PC. Apparently since this site was designed, computers got smaller, then larger, then smaller again, and now they can be literally any size? I don't know, technology is weird but Google keeps telling me my site isn't "mobile-friendly", so I hope to fix that somewhat soon!
Until next time, I'll see you for the 2019 Marching Season!
